Cowboy's For Kids 2007 raises over $130,000.00!

Hats off to everyone that contributed to the huge success of Cowboys for Kids Benefit 2007. We were blessed with great weather, wonderful celebrities, hard working volunteers and great sponsors! This was the tenth year for our benefit and what a fantastic response we had from our community friends. We are thankful to all of you who have contributed to the growth of this fundraiser.

We shattered last year's numbers by well over $30,000. That is just amazing. We also shattered attendance records. We had nearly 800 people in attendance at the Roping the Stars Dinner, over 50 little cowgirls and cowboys at the Stick Horse Rodeo and over 4,000 people in the stands on Saturday night for the PBR Bull Riding and Celebrity Team Roping.

It was definitely a star-studded weekend as Red Steagall, Dan Roberts and Sonny Burgess took the stage on Friday night to perform a variety of country and western music songs and poetry.

Other stars in attendance were Walt Garrison, Barry Corbin, Robert Fuller, Jennifer Savidge, Alex Cord, Chad Eubank, Roy Cooper, Buck Taylor, Larry Mahan, Bryon Walker, Randy Watson, Dean Smith, Charlie Throckmorton, Starvin Marvin Nash, Bobby Norris and Brantley Foster. We are so appreciative to all of these individuals for joining us in our mission to protect the children of Johnson County.

Along with the great music and stars was an auction that left the entire CAC Board and Staff feeling weak in the knees. One auction item went for $18,000.00. What a blessing for the children we serve.

A HUGE Texas thank you to Liberty Ford for once again being our title sponsor. Liberty Ford has faithfully sponsored this event for six years. We appreciate their dedication to the children we serve. We also want to thank J.J. & Bobby Norris for allowing us to use their beautiful facility for the Roping the Stars Dinner and the Johnson County Sheriff's Posse for the use of their facilities for our Bull Riding and Team Roping Events. A very special thank you goes out to Sheriff Alford and his crew for their tireless hours of work and organization on this event.

We are looking forward to next year being even bigger and better than this one so start watching for information and remember that we will host our event in April 2008! Thank you for your tremendous support!
